The Jackson Medical Society is composed of African American Physicians who have traditionally served individuals and families who reside in underserved areas of the city of Jackson and surrounding Hinds county. Through the 1960’s and into the late 70’s this tradition was driven by a rigidly enforced policy of non acceptance of Black physicians into white dominated mainstream medicine. Thus, service to the uninsured is no new venture for this group of health care providers whose membership include those listed below..
